My Thoughts: Carrying a car seat is difficult to begin with. Let's face it, it's just not comfortable! Add a 20 pound six month old, and it's even worse. I love the Happy Hold! It has a couple of loops for toys, velcro's on, and it's washable! The best part though? It's super cushy, and you don't feel like your arm is going to fall off!

Hold It: Modern,lightweight material stretches to fit most bottles and insulates without the bulk. Neoprene’s stretch factor let’s mom slip baby’s bottle (or maybe their own beverage) into this slick & cool sleeve. This magic fabric is nice to hold and if you choose not to, it tucks easily into a diaper bag and also attaches on diaper bag straps and stroller handles with a snap! Machine washable. $5.99

My Thoughts: This works out wonderfully for a water bottle or baby bottle! If you're a nursing mom like me, a bottle may not be an option, but a water bottle for you? Perfect! It's a handy tool to keep your water close at hand, and cool when taking a walk in the warm sunshine! If you happen to have a toddler, this is nice too, for them, as they have their water handy and close at all times!

Roomy: Modern, lightweight material stretches to organize and insulate backseat necessities. My Thoughts: Alright, I have two kids. My eight year old and my six month old. An organizer is the best invention, EVER! Between my son and his drinks, books, toys, etc. and, now the baby's toys. . . You will never find my truck without this item! It holds the perfect amount of things and it's all accessible! 

Slim Neoprene Shopping Cart Cover: Modern lightweight material offers dense cushioning and germ-defying protection without the bulk. $29.99

My Thoughts: Shopping carts have always been a challenge for me. I'm not a germaphobic, but I don't like my baby chewing on the bars and such. Not to mention she could get her fingers/hand caught in the slats. I love that this is so multi-functional that you can use it for the shopping cart and turn around and use it as a play mat! Cushioned, baby never has to worry about being uncomfortable while shopping!

Stroll Case: Modern, lightweight material stretches-to-fit most smartphones and dense cushioning helps protect it. Simply pop in your phone, strap it to your stroller or shopping cart handle and go! $5.99

My Thoughts: Pushing baby in a stroller you don't have a lot of room to store items. Sometimes your phone rings and you can't get to it for all the stuff in the diaper bag, or you don't hear it because it's locked away somewhere. The Stroll Case is perfect because you can attach it right to the handle of the stroller and never have to miss a phone call!

Stuff It: Modern, lightweight material offers stretch-to-fit storage and dense cushioning without the bulk. The stretch of Neoprene allows mom to stuff a lot into a small, cute clutch. Holds a changing pad (included), wipes case and diapers. Machine washable. $24.99

My Thoughts: I don't like to carry a whole lot in the diaper bag; but a baby requires a lot of things. Now that she's older my bag is packed full of toys, diapers, etc. Sometimes, I don't want to cart the entire bag into the store, or someone's house. The Stuff It makes this so easy. I can leave it in the vehicle and grab it and take it in and not pack around 10 extra pounds of diaper bag unnecessarily. Going for a walk around the neighborhood? Don't cart the whole bag, your Stuff It is enough!

My Thoughts: This is just a larger version of the Hold It. And for bottle feeding mommas this is an amazing thing. Insulated, and compact, you aren't having to worry about bulky loose in the bag bottles. Keep them together and cool/ warm without worrying about where they're at! 

Wipes Out: Modern, lightweight material stretches to hold any pack of wipes. You can never have enough wipes and we’ve made it easier to have them close at hand or in arms reach. Attaches easily to headrests and stroller bars. Machine washable. $12.99

My Thoughts: I love the idea of having wipes at your disposal no matter where you're at. With Wipes Out, you can hang them on the diaper bag, stroller, etc. and have them handy at all times! Washable, and trendy, you'll never go wrong with having the Wipes Out strapped on!

Homemade Laundry Soap

For about 6 months now we've talked about the idea of making our own homemade laundry soap. I researched and pondered, and decided OK! Well, fast forward, and I made it last night. A simple enough recipe all the ingredients and I was set.
I honestly don't' remember where I got the recipe from, but I will say that it was simple!

1 bar Fels Naptha Soap (grated)
1 cup Borax
1 cup Washing Soda

NOW, this is the part that wasn't clear, nor did I care for. It tells you to add 2 cups of water to the soap and melt it down. However, this doesn't work out as well as I'd hoped it would. You actually need upwards of like 6 cups of water to melt your soap down. Why? Well, if you're only using two cups, chances are you'll end up with a bubbly soapy sticky goo.

I added my Borax and Washing Soda to my 5 gallon bucket with hot water and stirred it until dissolved. After adding the soap mix to this I stirred and stirred. The hot water didn't get all the soap melted (remember the bubbly goo?), so I strained out the soap chunks, added water from the bucket and melted it down again and poured it back into the bucket.

Stirred and stirred some more, then I let it sit over night, covered. I broke up the gel and got my mixing beaters out to help break up the gel clumps, and added to detergent containers we'd purchased from the store. I'm unsure how they'll come out of the push spout (still kind of chunky).

I am super excited to try this on our clothes, and will be testing on our cloth diapers too! I added up approximately how much a 5 gallon bucket would cost, and it's about $1.50. A lot of sites say that's about 80 loads, but I added some more water to it once I got it into containers, so I'm hoping to get more than that (the containers claim there's 166 loads in each one).

When I first saw these I seriously that, "WHAT?" But upon seeing how many leaks and blow outs my baby had in disposables I figured why not! I also cloth diaper, so this was a great opportunity to try them out of all the CD Mommies out there!

Firstly, these truly are great for disposables! Let's be honest, when baby has a blow out it's not pleasant cleaning it up without making a HUGE mess of baby, you, and possibly the floor or changing mat. This really does cut down on that! I cannot express enough how when wearing a disposable the Blowout Blocker has saved our clothes AND time. 

Secondly, the Soaker Stopper is another great idea. However, little miss doesn't really soak out the top of her diapers, cloth or disposable, so this one didn't give me the best information to go on. I cannot honestly give an opinion based on my daughter. Now, with that being said, I tried it on a friends baby who does leak out the top front of diapers, and it does work! Boys especially! 

When my baby is in cloth, we don't have blowouts so, again, this isn't relevant for cloth, but I can imagine there are some babies out there who even in cloth, would benefit from this product. Every baby is different. 

I would definitely suggest this to a mom or dad! These are super affordable and will save you so much headache and TIME!

 Who would want something cold against your skin? Unless it's on a hot day, but even then, when we're talking about your bum, we tend to like things a certain way. And when we're talking about a baby? We forget that they would rather be warm and cozy, too.

Prince Lionheart and the Warmies wipesWarmer is a great way to give your sweet baby that added luxury of even though it's a diaper change, you're pampering their sensitive skin. No shock and awe with these wipes, because they stay moist and warm! I love that you don't have to scare baby with a cold wipe.

REVIEW: Changing Diapers-The Hip Mom's Guide to Modern Cloth Diapering

 Being new to the cloth diapering world, I had been searching for a book that was comprehensive and to the point. I don't want to be confused in the end, and I really want to learn even more about cloth diapering. Let's face it, when you have a Facebook, and Twitter and you talk about cloth, you need to know your ins and outs. That's where this book comes in, and oh boy!

Here's just a tiny bit about Kelly Wels:

Kelly Wels is a leading cloth diaper expert and advocate who has a passion for helping parents make informed decisions when it comes to how they diaper their babies.

In November 2010, Kelly founded Kellywels.com, which she calls her "passion project." Her mission is to share her love for cloth diapers and advocate for diapering change. She says she believes that through education and knowledge, parents can be empowered to make more positive diapering choices. Kelly also is a green living promoter and social media marketer.

Kelly was previously known by her peers as the founder and owner of DiaperShops.com and KellysCloset.com, two popular online cloth diapering stores. In the summer of 2010, Kelly decided to turn her business over to new owners and pursue her advocacy passion full-time, without dealing with the day-to-day pressures of running a multi-million dollar business. Cloth diapering isn't rocket science, but it is a skill to learn. With Kelly's book, I was able to read quickly and thoroughly. It was to the point, easy to understand, and had lots of helpful tips and tricks! It is always nice to have a go to source in your hands!

Are you wondering what other think about certain cloth diapering topics! There are mom quotes all over the book to give you a real perspective on cloth diapering! As a mom who doesn't have a lot of other mommy friends that use cloth, this was insanely helpful!

There are so many great things about this book, it's really hard to pick just a few to tell you about! From washing tips, to detailed pictures of different cloth diaper systems, this book is truly a one stop to help your journey! Even if you are a grandparent who's grand-babies are in cloth, this book is such a wonderful know how for everyone! There isn't any lingo that's too difficult to understand, and Kelly doesn't use a whole lot of silly terms. 

You definitely won't go wrong with this book! This would make a great gift for the new to cloth mommy in your life!!

Yeah, I haven't posted in a while, huh? I have some reviews to get up here pretty quickly, and some more thoughts and ideas to write about!

The weather has been crazy here lately, cold, snow, etc. That makes for a cranky almost 6 month old, too.

She's teething, and has a snotty nose, and is just fussy!

So with that said, I am looking forward to getting some reviews up on some great products for you guys very soon! By tonight!
